the game turned out to be incredibly sweaty -- both in real life (an undefeated virus decided to complicate things in my body) and in terms of in-game decisions, to which the map gave a diagnosis of "suboptimal":
1. I found 5 Griffin Conservatories, but all were single and deep in the respawn! I did manage to gather them, but for that I constantly had to buy/fire peasants and chain them to the next conservatory, barely farming the rest of the map... in total it came out to 7 angels, if only I had known -- I could have profitably entertained a couple of distant ones, but alas....!
2. I refused Pathfinding on Goshi to have time to level up Earth magic before the GO, since at that point I hadn't seen any boxes at all, literally, but on the same turn, a peasant who picked up the purse to capture a corner village spots a huge fat box behind a horde of woodcutters
plans change drastically -- instead of taking the conservatory, speeding up at stables, breaking for mana and running to the GO, Goshi turns towards the box, devours a terrible amount of experience -- also on the guard -- leveling up a bunch more slots for Earth magic, but the village turns out to be empty and Goshi has to run on foot to the well (which is more profitable than both a distant break in the main and replenishing in the village), thus never visiting the stables -- instead of coming out on 122 or 123 with a speed boost, he came out on the same turn but on 124 and without stables, while due to collecting conservatories in the middle of nowhere, he couldn't advance anyone towards the GO yet
as a result, not only was I crawling like a snail, but at first I was also picking up relics in person with a penalty, even though I tried my best not to stray from the roads
the opponent, besides 3 external dwellings of devils, had a well next to the GO, and right next to the road too, which imho decided a lot
I see Bron, the first finale, for which I first had to break through a block of archdevil packs, there was no tactics, behind them by the way was a level 30 prison, gauntlets, an obelisk, and piles of resources, but I couldn't take them, because I attacked Bron on the last move, and everything then went to the opponent
the battle was under Orb, stats were +5 attack, equal defense, but I decided on Cloak + 2 speed -- we not only won the finale against 11 devils and 38 wyverns with an army of 6 angels (1 died from the devils), ~300 skeletons, 10 each of horses and wyverns, but we also had enough purse left to farm the center further
and here I make the main mistake, which stressed me out the most, but which made the game fun: above, above the fork with Bron, there was a prison, bracers, and necromancy boots! since some blue cleric had made a bunch of moves along the road before me, I thought that Bron, if he came from above, would definitely have time to break through, and a peasant would certainly have enough moves to open the prison and not let Goshi get such relevant goodies
so even without looking at the ground, which I didn't have, I was sure, when I sent the peasant along a clear road to scout the blue player (instead of whom he scouted almost the entire center), that Goshi ran up the gorge, but alas, the eaten Dragon Fly Hives, and then the fork with a passage to the lava quickly told me how wrong I was...
at night, Bron crawls out to the fork with the growth of several devils and other riffraff and stands on the Dragon Fly Hive I had just captured, I didn't have enough moves left to attack, which is what saved me
full trade, exchange, and we finally replenish mana at home for the magic taken from the box for the entire 5th level, leaving Bron without devils and without mana
but alas, the well is close, and blue tries to farm the center with chains, while I finish off my respawn, planning to then break into the grass adjacent zone
but plans had to be changed urgently -- the opponent, knowing about the Shackles, for some reason leaves Bron on the road with 9 monarchs, and Goshi from the darkness with a jump reaches him on the last move -- already the 2nd time this game))
blue, meanwhile, having captured something along the way, tries to use peasants from prisons to carry the purse further away
the plan worked, but not completely -- Goshi, who already had Log in the 7th slot, this time didn't reach him, but managed to block the path to the rest of the chain for Arlash without a spellbook
blue's options were to run further, knowing that they would be caught the next turn for sure, or to attack 62 monarchs with what was left
Arlash attacked the monarchs, even broke through and carried the remaining army away with a chain, but the forces were undermined and after a couple of turns blue capitulates
GG, thanks for the game))
We played as usual without restarts. I had a great setup with 3 external dwellings of devils and 4 Dragon Fly Hives with my native village. On turn 1 I built the devil dwelling, captured 3 external dwellings and built wyverns for upgrade. But as always I needed to crab and not build a tavern to bring the wyverns back. I had to go out with regular ones, which decided the first fight -- I could have ended the game earlier, on turn 125. But that wasn't to be, I had to exchange with the opponent like crazy, I bought back 17 Wyverns, and he had 10 wyverns and 8 necro horses. The opponent decided I would take a long time to come out and went forward. At the same time I had Speed Boots and the next turn upgraded those wyverns and went on the attack since the opponent had nothing left, and with turn 131 coming up and a growth of 7 devils doing their job. On turn 2 I attacked the opponent and there was almost a zero-sum exchange, the opponent buys back and
goes home to gather troops and replenish mana. I decide to mess around in the center, pick up Dragon Fly Hives and plan to consume the center. On turn 135 the opponent comes out with Dimension Door:smile20: and bracers. Kills my main at speed boost well without artifacts. He already has 350 skeletons and 20+ wyverns, necro meat. I decide to run further into the center and try to capture objects, hoping to find a main in prisons. But not having mass magic, I couldn't break through strong guards and they set a trap for me where I couldn't pass with the remaining army and sort it out. Thanks for the game to Vova:smile20:
