No, it's not just an approximation; the player sees that the opponent is moving, thinking they've dealt 126 damage, but the player remains silent and then IMMEDIATELY PUNISHES them! :D

I don't see any reason to give the opponent extra information. One could have suggested a reload after the violation or surrendered if the defeat was obvious and inevitable, but that's a matter of taste and good will.
