I have the same problem. A map with NCF creatures doesn't generate; it crashes during the creation process. I thought it wasn't even intended – that you have to add them manually, but it turns out it's still possible... For now, I'm playing with regular creatures, but I'm really looking forward to a solution. I switched back from EWA to H5.5 because of NCF.
