Viktor's lore greatly resembles that of a famous Serbian-American inventor, Nikola Tesla. Professor Stanwick stole credit for Viktor's creation, Blitzcrank. Similarly, Tesla had Thomas Edison steal credit for much of Tesla's work (such as the well-known Edison light bulb that Tesla created) during his time working for the famous American inventor, and Guglielmo Marconi for stealing credit for the invention of the radio.

Viktor's own abilities drew inspiration from Tesla's work that was never fully realized.
