The only road was a one-way (whereas for the opponent, all roads in the world were reversed), absolute lack of money; from the surrender, three external dwellings of bears in a dead-end village were held back, thanks to which I miraculously took a same-day 3 with wings and then everything went well, fought off the death knight in the Castle, but positioned myself poorly, the death knight hit 11 bears on the map.
As for the checkbox, of course you need to set it, otherwise a good template turns into something unrecognizable.
