Without removing the handcuffs, he went to destroy the Castle... He asked to load a save from his opponent, but the opponent refused. He didn't want to continue playing after that. Of course, the principle of "winning at any cost" has become popular now, but what is the value of such a victory? :(
I know that Stefan ALWAYS plays without loading saves (unless they are officially allowed within the tournament).
I'm okay with that; I used to play strictly without loading saves in tournaments myself, but now I prefer to ask my opponent if they will use saves and how many, to avoid such posts.
With some opponents, I don't even ask – we play without saves, period (for various reasons).
If there was no agreement with Stefan regarding saves, then I personally consider these complaints (or dissatisfaction) to be inappropriate. Especially from a tournament judge.
I've lost countless games in this tournament due to various misclicks or simple mistakes. I take it as: if I messed up, then I have to deal with the consequences, even if it means losing; next time, I'll be more careful. Besides, it's just a game.
P.S. So much has already been written and rewritten about this. It's strange that this topic is resurfacing.
