Friends, I was just thinking about that old game, "Demiurges 2." And I also remembered the mystical city of "Kuznitsa," which many people talked about but never actually implemented. So, in Demiurges, there's a fantastic faction from which you could take units or at least their style. Maybe you'll want to create Kuznitsa instead of Undead or another faction that isn't very customizable? Here are some screenshots of the units:
