I was lucky with my hero and town, and even with the map layout – I had 4 roads and some +1 power bonuses. I didn't get either the arrow or lightning spell from the Conflux, only the ice bolt. I suspected an early week 2 encounter, and after defeating the Medusae and Pit Lords on the Monolith, I found my opponent 5 tiles away. With about 80-90 mana and 8 power, and against an opponent with no spellbook, I managed to win, even against a massive army. 2-1.
