Gameplay tactics on the large map.

Hello, could you please advise on how to start on random maps as Dungeon, facing strong neutral creatures and with a hero who, at the beginning of the game, has absolutely nothing to kill strong enemy stacks, and therefore, lacking resources, I can't do anything. Which hero is best to choose, how should I develop the town, which upgrades should I prioritize, and which abilities should I choose for the hero? I'm a small fan of this faction, but I'm also curious about how people actually play as them.
