Just out of curiosity: didn't Ples have a loophole in the form of elemental damage? For example, from combat magic, or simply a weapon enchanted with some element/neutral?

The inability to use magic and -8 to magic somehow doesn't encourage this. There was a loophole through the succubus ability, some non-Ishanadi summons, and so on. You could also take a "Knight" to taunt opponents. But all these options seem not very good, in my opinion.
