In the first game, I didn't have much money, so I placed units 1, 2, and 5 in the Castle. In the second game, I went to the Treasury, gathered 16 Vipers, took a Consultant (level 1), and a Pandor on 25 Gremlins. Then I went to an adjacent secondary town, where I met an opponent who didn't attack, which probably saved me. After that, I went on a rampage, captured towns, and managed to overwhelm the enemy.
