In Oblivion, you could create your own build. But yes, when I took a "lolo" there, I got tired of leveling up whatever it was – maces and melee combat, I think – that seemed like completely useless stuff.

Although now I dream of quickly leveling up pickpocketing, defense, and two-handed weapons, because legendary-ing alchemy, crafting, alteration, and illusion a hundred times won't be very efficient.
