In theory, there shouldn't be any difference, as nothing was specifically changed here. However, it transmits slightly more data, so it might be a bit more sensitive to a poor connection, but this is insignificant.
Occasionally, there are users who can connect to Sod but not to Hota, and now it seems that the opposite can also happen. I can assume that the system somehow treats the Sod and Hota executable files differently, perhaps they have different permissions/owners in the file system or different access in the firewall (if it's enabled).
