All your suggestions boil down to not placing numerous stacks on the map and giving out stat boosts for free. Then go to the current HoMM4 tournament right now and look at the map. I won’t discuss it yet, but think about how many drawn-out battles there might be in your opinion. After the tournament ends, we’ll compare answers. I had a specific question — if such stacks are ALREADY placed and the tournament is ongoing, should players smash their keyboards to pieces..? :)

Not necessarily for free. But if the map author’s intention is to give a "certain" advantage to the hero, it shouldn’t come at the cost of a broken keyboard and gouged-out eyes.
As for HoMM4... Yes, this tournament is already underway, but it’s not the last one... In the future, such issues can be anticipated. I myself am all for saving time in any form, but when a question arises on the verge of "legitimacy," to avoid such prolonged disputes, it’s better not to create such situations (battles like 1 vs 1000, 5000, 10000, etc.).
