Leave them on HL+U with medium and fast speeds; on L, you can even use medium speeds.
On 8x8a, only use fast speeds!
P.S. This is a strange topic in general; it seems like reinventing the wheel.
What's wrong with fast encounters on the second map? There don't seem to be any rules prohibiting it. Or does someone enjoy playing until the 2nd or 3rd month?
Was the wheel made of wood? Or maybe stone...? As a result of these "strange topics," we currently have wheels made of high-quality alloys and materials... :smile42:
