I'm reading this and I just can't understand who was suddenly bothered by HotA tournaments and how? There have always been TE/VT/HotA, they were always in the General section and didn't bother anyone.

Personally, this issue isn't critical for me, but they actually can be a nuisance. For example, I go to the online tournament top 3 section; I'm interested in which tournaments are being held, whether I can register for them, etc.
Take the "Second Snow" tournament. There is no info about HotA in the tournament header. Information about the game version is already in the first post, mentioned twice. But it's not mentioned in bold, it's not highlighted at all and could easily go unnoticed. I was interested in this tournament and even wanted to register for it, but at the last moment I noticed the version and it very much surprised and upset me.
In the end, I wasted some time. One could blame my own lack of attention for everything, I don't dispute that. But such a problem could arise for other people as well. To save players' time and nerves, it really makes sense to either move HotA tournaments to the HotA section (a radical solution), or require tournament organizers to label HotA tournaments in the title, as is done with Blitz-Jebus Cross (a compromise).
