The organizers of the CIS tournament do not know how many participants there will be in the tournament until it starts, which results in an odd number of players and immediately creates tension for the draw.

First suggestion: CIS participants register for the tournament in advance, transfer the entry fee to the account of the chief judge - who is Dirty Player at the moment. It is also stipulated that this must be done N days before the start of the tournament.

Second suggestion: the regulations are developed based on the registered participants in advance. This format, in which a player who loses one match no longer has a chance to win the tournament, has lost its relevance.

Of course, you can argue that the Swiss system is the best because the tournament time is limited.
But in reality, in 6 days, you can play a mini group stage + an Olympic-style playoff with a full final. And the tournament will only benefit from this. You can even play 2 games a day.

All this is just my IMHO, an outside perspective.
