As long as it’s possible to go out and “earn” (or maybe just buy) a victory on your doorstep during a smoke break in the most important tournament of the year, then such a tournament is worthless!

You are probably too naive. In any discipline (tennis, boxing, football, etc.), at any level (up to world championships), match-fixing takes place. Should we stop watching sports altogether now? If two players want to achieve the same result (it doesn’t matter at what stage the deal takes place), it is impossible to prevent them. The problem is that if you are already resorting to crime, it is not necessary to shout about it to the whole world.

In my opinion, photos from the CIS should be like this (photo attached), and not like Comrade Merlin photographs drunk bodies in various sleeping poses... either standing, or somehow else...

Initially, tournaments of this format were held in clubs, but then the participants began to value comfort more, plus the "club atmosphere" is not very conducive for spectators. Regarding drunk bodies, this already depends solely on upbringing; some people allow themselves alcohol in moderation, while others come to breakfast with a bottle of vodka... Every time I organize the Siberian Championship, I encounter such "lovers of drinking a couple of liters to celebrate," and because of this, I no longer want to hold live tournaments. Another option is to introduce a Stop-List for some people and simply ban them from coming to tournaments.
