A Warrior hero from the Dungeon faction? That's absurd...

What kind of fighters are they? Right now, I'm playing The Shadow of Death, and by level 20, the defense is only 5, even with artifacts. It seems the only way to improve is to increase initiative, so you can act before the opponent with your Chaos spell, which affects multiple targets.
