Regarding balance, I can say the following: Krag is clearly overpowered.
a) He deals a huge amount of damage with his basic attacks and spells. This is fatal for heroes who rely on a specific type of unit.
b) He has too large an army and high luck. This makes it impossible to defeat him using an army. The enemy army simply cannot withstand the exchange of blows with his units. And even the most powerful mages cannot remove even half of his stack with Earth Shock.

I tried to "kill" the AI-controlled Krag (megaAI_mod_1.2) with vanilla heroes - Axel, Dyraell, Helmar, Razazak, and Synitar. None of them killed even half of Krag's army!
The only time I managed to win was by using the old vanilla tactic with Ossir - I cornered myself and held the defense. And even then, it only worked the second time, because the first time Krag quickly finished off the archers with his spells.
I can provide replays of battles against Krag if needed.

However, the Overlord is clearly the weakest of all the heroes - any hero with fast troops can easily destroy his army due to initiative.
