The duration may vary. You can finish in 4 hours. And sometimes you won't manage in 24 hours. It depends on the map, timer, and somewhat on the experience of the players.

(By the way, this number means nothing when playing against the AI. Everyone has long been familiar with the AI. Winning against 7 AIs in alliance is no problem for anyone. If anything matters, it's how many years you've been playing against other people.)
