I'll start with the backstory... The draw was entrusted to Alex, or rather he was to pull the cards. I no longer had a chance of taking 1st place, but there were 3 people with 4 points, and I could play against the 3rd SNG champion, so I was shouting something like "give me Gelu" and I got him )
The next day, when I woke up I realized I was sick, I felt really awful (and not because of alcohol, strangely enough). After every turn I went outside to cough, and in general I was trying with my last strength to pull myself together and do at least something.
Not long after the start of the game, Lizard won his pair against Mizrael. That is, if I won, Lizard would become the champion after this round. At that very moment, everyone started rooting for Gelu, even those who had bet that he wouldn't be the SNG champion ) And honestly, I myself was rooting for him a little bit )) But I decided I wouldn't throw the game, unlike someone ) I'll play as best I can. Now about the game:
The random gave me Ivor with 10 elves and 1 native hero in the tavern. Without thinking long, I sent Kyrre in one direction on grand centaurs, and Ivor on grand elves in the other. Ivor hit a block, but scouted 2 Dragon Utopias in the corner treasure zone. At home, horses in the citadel. On turn 2 of week 1, I decided to switch to 0, hoping for fast yolo Dragon Utopias.
On turn 2 of week 2, I took the 1st Dragon Fly Hive, then 2 Griffin Conservatories (3+1) on the opponent's respawn. Since there were 3 external dwellings of dwarves, I decided to go to the Dragon Utopias by the start of week 3. On turn 2 of week 3, Kyrre died — I went to the Dragon Fly Hive next to the Dragon Utopia, took it, and there was another box with 50 dwarves — 130 total ))) There was no earth magic, there was water and air; in the Dragon Utopia I fed meat, but I think I took it without major losses — they gave me a cap of +5. Next, another 2 Dragon Utopias — they gave absolutely nothing, well, wings at least.
Since my condition was deteriorating exponentially, I decided to go at the opponent, grabbing one more Dragon Utopia along the way (max with nothing).
I set up choke points to prevent Gelu from taking my Castle via Dimension Door with scout heroes.
It seemed that 20 minutes of timer would be enough, but no )) I went only with angels — recaptured 3 castles, scouted, mowed down scout heroes, could have used a scout hero with 2 Dimension Doors to bring the main army, but from the timer I realized I could only break Kyrre and pass the angels, hoping Gelu wouldn't reach them.
On the last second I unequip the Cape of Silence, but I didn't have time to put on the +5 hat.
Gelu attacks, thinking I have the Cape of Silence with 12 mana. After a small exchange, he retreats. After that, he attacks with a scout hero mage with mana. I only have Summon Water Elementals: we kill each other.
Time to dig with Kyrre, I have 60k — let's go. Surprisingly fast, in about 10 heroes I dig it up, bring the meat, and see Gundula's folder with Shackles of War — gg.
Thanks for the game!
I confirm, the start wasn't the greatest, but some decent candidates for main heroes came in, plenty of gold, and a Dragon Fly Hive + Griffin Conservatory, so I decided to play (1 rest remained). The opponent had it more interesting; I invested in the Mage Guild, on turn 6 of week 2 Mage Guild 5 with slag, 4 rebuilds of level 4 to Town Portal and 3 rebuilds of level 5, only Fly was given. In the first Dragon Utopia, I took meat for -1 morale, it gave -4 morale on Wyverns and -1 morale on angels; in the end everything was eaten except 5 out of 6 angels (no Mass Shield). They gave +6 all stats and +5 all stats. But the second Dragon Utopia turned out to be slag. Due to the lack of Dimension Door, I couldn't take the max Dragon Utopia that Aiwe took. Well, and then as it turned out, the opponent's mistake played into his hands — if he had enough timer to sit in the city he needed, Gundula would have destroyed Kyrre without much trouble. I managed to kill Kyrre by sacrificing several artifacts (summons couldn't break through, but by cutting the army and dying as a hero, I sent Kyrre with the artifacts to the tavern). I didn't have gold to dig myself, while Aiwe had plenty, but the skill worked almost immediately and Kyrre came out of the tavern with a solid amount of gold. Then another attempt to catch him on a mistake was unsuccessful. Thanks for the game.
