I think that such releases should be included in automatic updates. Not everyone follows the website and new patches to specifically look for and test them.
Exactly, either mandatory auto-updates or... otherwise, everyone will have different versions :)
For the player, the most important thing is that the compatibility of previously saved games is not affected by this.
