no castles should be removed!!! if you dislike castles, then only do so without deleting them... I would actually like a neutral castle, because it's difficult to create an army from them, and sometimes you would like to (they don't always join, and it can be a hassle to travel through their dwellings).
I think that combining them by nation is absurd: it could result in a combination of incompatible things (angels and devils exist in almost all mythologies).
they should be combined based on characteristics... (demons - Inferno, elementals - Conflux, forest - elves, steppe - barbarians).
