How can I not afford a Lord? I don't mind spending 1500 gold for the extra boost. :)
You're leveling up a Necromancer. Soon you'll have Vampires. I'm leveling up a general. The Vampires will be crying when a Crusader with 35/35 stats comes after them. :)

Well, yeah? But what if the hero's Crusader gets tired, and then you attack with a Vampire after waiting. The Crusader won't even have time to strike. Although, under other circumstances, the Crusader could easily defeat the Vampires in one or two rounds.
