On Tuesday, a parent-teacher meeting was arranged. Dad Crag Hack arrived, Mom Kyrre, Sir Mullich, Lady Pyre, as well as mustached Orrin (who looks like Dzhigurda), Fafner, and bearded Thorosarich
The roads turned out to be fast for some reason, when will this plague on XL+U be eradicated!?:smile29:
On turn 113, I got stuck at a crossroads facing a lot of Swordsmen guarding an external dwelling of Berserkers and a chest. That would be fine, but there are only 3 Conflux computers on the map, and only the cheater button knows how many there really are. So presumably there are about 40 of them; going in is not an option, going around through the steppe isn't great either, so I turn my horsies back home to clear the respawn, and Kyrre, left with nothing to do, goes exploring on a goblin :smile13:
After that, nothing interesting: grabbed a couple of Crypts, broke through some light guards for chests, took a mini Dwarf Cottage. And only on day 6, with the horsies and a zero Crag Hack, I attacked the damned Swordsmen.There are 46 of them with Grandmasters :smile21: Merging was quite possible, but they didn't moral like crazy, the ballista fulfilled its purpose. And 30 Marksmen moved on to the next round. But they did take one horsy and a couple of Swordsmen from me. Still, it's unlikely I could have fought any better.
On turn 117, I capture the nearby brown Conflux computer. There's a Papal Municipality there, without even Air elementals :p
On turn 121, I take a mini Griffin Conservatory for Crag Hack with a delivery of horsies and Air elementals. I beat Kyrre on the main and she starts a new life on Monday :)
On turn 123, with Fafner, another mini Griffin Conservatory in the corner village of the Conflux.
Turn 124 - something like 35 groups of Dendroid Guards broken by Kyrre, there's a box of 10k experience, I level up slowly, but Wisdom is only Basic. I open a prison - there's Inteus level 5 with Expert Visions and Fire Magic + I grabbed a scroll of Implosion.
Turn 125 - I build Mage Guild level 4 in the computer's Conflux - there's Town Portal/Meteor Shower. Same day, Inteus takes the box for all of level 4. Fafner has Expert Scholar and Earth Magic, but Basic Wisdom; Kyrre has the same, but no Earth Magic.
Turn 126 - Pyre, on her last moves, reaches another village, a Necropolis one. Thanks to the cheater fast roads :smile13:
Three dads move in to clear it: Fafner, Kyrre, Inteus
Barely manage to level their Wisdom up to Advanced so they can use various resources.
Over in the Necropolis, on those stupid fast roads, everything is obviously great. From mid-week, stats are visible that look very much like many stat artifacts + Gladius and lots of gold, while I have practically nothing) Another Griffin Conservatory, this time a two-spot + via Town Portal I took two Dragon Fly Hives, 6 and 4. But the prospects are quite good.
Turn 131 - I defeat Kyrre in the Conflux, buy Earth Magic to go with Air, and run to the adjacent zone where a Dragon Utopia is visible. In the Mage Guild 5, there's Fisher.
Turn 132 - I take the Dragon Utopia, which has a Sentinel's Shield and a Bag of Gold; at the traders, I buy the Angel Feather Arrows and Boots of Speed (what a gift :smile04: )
Constantly short on resources, I trade all unnecessary artifacts and scrolls.
Turn 133-134 - I ran through the super treasure zone, where there are 2 Dragon Fly Hives, 6 and 4, and a minimal Dragon Utopia with a Hat :smile05: Traded the Hat and other junk, rebuilt the Mage Guild level 5 a couple of times - got Earth Elementals, Implosion. This is all very annoying because I'm lagging behind in every parameter. The Conflux is at a crossroads; someone could Dimension Door in at any moment and take it, but there's nothing else to do. I fend off resources in every way trying to build Dimension Door, since no Dragon Utopias or super treasure zones are in sight.
Turn 135 - in the Mage Guild, Air Elementals; I built Angels, captured the Crimson Conflux, from it via an observation spot I lit up a treasure zone with an external dwelling of Angels, 4 Dragon Fly Hives, and a Dragon Utopia. Frantically, with Kyrre at level 18, I try to level up her Wisdom.
Turn 136 - the long-awaited Dimension Door; I jump Kyrre and Fafner into the super treasure zone, Inteus is on backup.
Turn 137 - in the super treasure zone, behind a mountain, I see Clavius with 500+ Skeletons, a lot of Dragons; I snatch the Dragon Utopia with All3 and a 4/4 Crown from under his nose. The 4 Dragon Fly Hives produced 30 Dragon Flies. Life is getting better; Kyrre has 2 Dimension Doors.
Turn 141 - 9 Archangels; I capture a couple of castles with the horses and Dimension Door users, and with Kyrre, I take the nearby former pink computer's Conflux from the main. Gunnar there was about to fly to me; I cut him off, but he runs away because I have Advanced Tactics.
Turn 142 - I grab a second Dragon Utopia in the treasure zone - it has All6; the Conflux was taken from me again; Kyrre can't reach it again; in panic, I jump on low timer into the Conflux, there into the Well; after the Well, 199 movement points and nowhere to go) But with the army and ready for battle.
But the attack didn't come, and I'm given a gift. Clavius lands in the Conflux with his entire army, and even with a Renkater. On my turn, I grab Shackles of War, the Earth Elemental booster, and attack.
In this situation, there was no chance; without the Renkater, it would clearly have been better for Blue.
The autopsy revealed some wild luck for Alexander: on turn 117, with 4 external dwellings of Peasants, 343 Skeletons; on turn 124, a Dragon Utopia, and everything in the same vein))) But apparently he relaxed somewhere; after getting Fly in the guild on turn 135, for some reason he didn't rebuild it anymore :confused:, and he never got Dimension Door anywhere. In short, I had no business winning here; I guess I just got lucky)))
