I don't know why round-robin tournaments are even held. Anyone who wants to play can always find an opponent. And those who want to win should aim to reduce the amount of time needed to achieve their goal.

Therefore, either an Olympic-style tournament, a double-elimination tournament, or a Swiss-system tournament with elimination after two losses would be better.
