Since it's the first tournament, everything starts anew according to this point, just like a season resets....

You're not reading carefully; it was about the analogy with the first tournament, not about transferring results from there.
P.s. My previous post naturally referred to the fifth point, about the series of wins and the decreasing chance of it happening.
