I agree that they will be on equal footing in terms of further rating progression. But the fact that everyone's rating is being leveled to the current rating? Why? As if all players have the same level of skill at this point?

So, it turns out that for 10 months each year, your rating won't decrease... but then it will be halved... and in the remaining 2 months, it will decrease (by the way, have you decided what the default decrease will be?)... and how can this be called? In my opinion, only one word fits: CHAOS!

Everything is written in the rules. For this Kanigema tournament (during its course, I promised not to decrease the rating), there are five stages - 10% each. This means that at the end, everyone's rating will be reduced by 50%. IS THAT A PROBLEM?

Well, consider the point: what's the use of rating decay if it doesn't work in most cases?

Show me on the example of my tables where it doesn't work?? There is not much information yet. The decay was carried out only once, by 10% for each version and by 33% for the Universal rating. After Kanigema, we will decay again. The main thing is that according to my rating, no one will reset their rating, and everyone will not have an equal rating, because someone has earned something over the year and will not want to lose it. It will only decrease so that they cannot break away indefinitely. And the fact that I will decay according to my own discretion is my right. The main thing is that everyone is warned in advance and that the decay is applied to everyone by the same percentage - this is a MUST :)

Imagine that you have some problems in real life and you cannot be present on the portal, and the rating is left to its own devices? Or someone else will be appointed who decides to decay the rating differently... Then you come back again and return the decay to your way... Is this right? The rating should be calculated according to the rules, not according to the whim of any person. Otherwise - CHAOS!

But I don't see a problem with that. I already said - you can decay however you want, but the main thing is to warn about the time when the decay will occur (although this is not so important) and that the decay is applied to everyone by the same percentage - that's why I don't need to reset everything for everyone at the beginning of the year, and no one will break away indefinitely from others. And since such a trend is emerging, everyone's rating will be reduced by 50% after the Kanigema tournament, according to the Universal rating. And for each of the versions, I will see how many games have been played during this time (one game - 10%, two games - 20%) - the rating will be decayed by that percentage.

Indeed, you can calculate the rating as a percentage of the main rating. Like 30% or 20% for each blitz.

Well, that's not so bad. But still, there is a trend that many more types of tournaments will be invented here, and then the accountants will only have to calculate ratings. Therefore, I will still not count such blitzes in my rating.
