A rather lively scene unfolded in an unassuming hut by the river. Four Illinar generals stood at attention before a stately man with sharp features.
"Vrail, your men will scout along the river. Craig, your task is to intercept anyone attempting to break through from the mansion towards the road. Istvan and Blood, your task is to storm the estate; you've already seen the map. It's desirable to carry out the operation quickly, quietly, and without unnecessary witnesses."
"Yes, sir," the four voices barked in unison. After receiving the order, Rilean headed towards his unit. As he exited the hut, his gaze caught a strange incongruity in the surroundings. Without wasting time on reflection, he headed towards a small grove near the riverbank. Immediately, he saw a shadow darting away from the grove.
There was no time to raise the alarm, so he had no choice but to pursue the scout on his own. Thanks to his good physical condition, he managed to catch up. The fugitive turned out to be a man with refined features. He could have been mistaken for a Taoist, but his tanned skin betrayed him as a resident of the Thylian Archipelago.
A fight ensued. The scout was quite skilled in combat, but gradually Rilean began to gain the upper hand. Remembering what he had been taught at the military academy, Rilean decided to take a risky step. A feint, a trip – the opponent stretched out on the ground. A blow to the head with the crossguard of his sword finally incapacitated the opponent.
A few minutes later, one of the squads involved in the operation arrived at the noise. The spy was tied up and taken to the commander-in-chief. As a result of the interrogation, much useful information for their mission was obtained, details about who sent the scout and what task he had, which the Illinar leadership had not disclosed. However, this did not prevent the successful completion of the operation to seize the mansion of conspirators involved in illegal financial schemes, as well as other crimes that were not disclosed for unknown reasons.
Soon after returning to Covell, Rilean received an order to look for a certain Mirabella Ludenberg. Through her, the leadership would transmit further instructions.
