Satellite tournament #1 for CIS-2016 in St. Petersburg.
This encourages exploration; if someone runs in and grabs a treasure chest with 10000 gold for free on the first turn, that's a bonus for them and speeds up the game!
Why does this deserve encouragement? Wicc
Initially, mirror matches were designed, among other things, to reduce the number of restrictions in the rules. The goal of VT was this, and mirror matches only emphasized it further. Therefore, they were played on the principle of "everything is allowed."
Yes, VT and HotA have this ideology; there's no arguing that. However, it's still unclear why VT's "prisons, artifacts, pardons" wouldn't work. Wicc
SoD doesn't have this goal because it's not feasible, so the question of restrictions in relation to mirror matches is debatable, and both opinions are reasonable.
For these same reasons, it's much easier in SoD to say "we're playing by the standard rules" than to write a long set of rules about what is and isn't allowed.
