Is diplomacy necessary?

I'm not very involved in tournaments; it's like Pluto is from the Sun. The tactics there are completely different. I'm talking about a regular game against the AI. In 7 years of playing, I managed without diplomacy :D. It's a habit from the second game.

Well, then the question of the necessity of diplomacy can simply be removed... :) What does diplomacy have to do with it if we're just playing against the AI? Diplomacy helps when playing for a result, but if the goal is to defeat the AI, then you can do without it... In this case, many features are not needed...
