Illuminating different parts of the dungeon.

Yes, you know, I placed one entrance to the Dungeon on an elevation (the entrance is guarded by a Necromancer). And the second one – at the bottom, and connected the two caves with a portal. Maybe the problem is due to the elevation (although probably not).
