No, that's not it. In my opinion, religion is the belief in something that cannot be proven with direct "evidence."

It's not about proof. Religion is a path to self-improvement, not a goal. When religion is the goal, we get crusades, bonfires, and the Inquisition. But when it's a means, we get communism. Not the one that existed in the USSR, or the one that exists in China, but the very Bright Future, the socialist utopia, which oligarchs are now so skillfully exploiting for their own interests. After all, the commandments are not written for nothing, and the desire to create is more valuable than the paths of destruction. You can't create anything through destruction, but religion teaches us to value our own creations and those of others.
