I beg you... Even 200 mana towards the end of the game in LoD was enough for 4 Armageddons, after which only pitiful remnants of the enemy remained, even on the highest difficulty. In "War of the Ancients" with "Flame Ice" towards the end, it's about 300, I don't know about TS.

So, the only downside of this tactic is its excessive ease, which will reduce the player's enjoyment of the game (although this depends on the player).
