We used all restarts after the draft. The respawn turned out to be bearable, which is surprising for Conflux. The economy, of course, was strained, but fit within the set goals. So in the fort on the first week came the Altar of Thought. On the second week Moner arrived, and I switched to him. He came in handy for bringing air elementals and sprites from a village that was quite far away. After eating a knowledge stone, I raised his Logistics, and the ideal PvE leveling began. Only Earth failed to show up from all the necessary [magic].
On the second week I moved out from respawn, taking an Inferno village. Then I took a third Conflux and the first encounter with the opponent's main hero occurred. He was speed-boosting with a Serpent Fly, so he managed to escape. Moner couldn't reach his secondary hero with that army, and that turned out to be for the best, as it transpired.
On the third week I already had Phoenixes in the castle. The opponent was meanwhile bringing Gurnison back to the chokepoint where we had met. Through a clever chain with one secondary hero, I transferred all resources for gold, the Phoenixes, and the Psychic Elemental growth, and moved towards the opponent, who had holed up in an empty secondary Conflux. On the way, I stumbled upon 100+ Orcs for an artifact, and by all Maretti's laws, Ballistics came up after the battle. But at the same time, I decided that the Breastplate [granting] +1 to all stats would be very useful, and while going for it, I didn't manage to reach the castle with the opponent's main hero. Fortunately, I had enough movement and the terrain was favorable to block his exit.
The next day he attacked, and after the first Phoenix turn, he surrendered.

p.s. I have never seen 70% of the guards at both the main respawn and secondary towns consist solely of shooters. It was terrifying.
