zoog, the instability you are demonstrating is abnormal for SoD. Try recreating HD.exe (judging by the crash log, the executable was created a long time ago).
I reinstalled the game (complete collection), took the exe from there, created an HD-exe from it, and all the settings were reset again – are they tied to the exe name? What do the 3 ini files do: #default#sod, default, and sod? As I understand it, the format of these files and the list of settings may change unpredictably with updates, meaning that after each update (by the way, what about disabling updates on beta versions by default? let those who know what they are doing do it, and not crowds of beginners), you have to search for the necessary items and edit them again?
