Battle for Wesnoth

Against the undead, I would recommend mages and, with some caution, heavy infantry. Mages generally do well against the undead, and infantry easily destroys skeletons and adepts. However, the latter can handle infantry just as well.

And paladins are also effective against the undead, although you probably don't have many of them.
