How many Soviet republics were there?

It seems that everyone here considers themselves an expert on these issues. I don't know what they're reading, but it has nothing to do with reality. Most likely, they're not reading anything at all. I'm amazed at where people get this collection of liberal propaganda clichés from. Do they not want to think, or are they simply incapable of it?
