A person with a knife is much less dangerous than a person with a gun. Have you ever heard of someone stabbing a bunch of people in a movie theater with a knife? Or doing something similar at a school?
1. The idiot stabs someone, and they subdue him. One casualty.
2. The idiot pulls out a gun and shoots. He's unlikely to get a second shot off. Assuming that someone present has a gun. Two casualties, one of whom is the idiot himself (who will never harm anyone again, and his father's connections as a colonel won't help him now).
I think both scenarios are not that different.
Ничто не возникает из ничего и ничто не пропадает бесследно.
Если где-то чего-то убудет, то в другом месте добавится.
