Are Psychology and Religion compatible concepts?

Well, various options are possible here. Some people invent a god for themselves, claiming that he comforted them. Some create a god in their own image and likeness. Some religions arise in opposition to existing ones.
And in general, psychologists have their own gods — Freud, Jung, and others.

Let's take Christianity, for example. Psychologists deny the origin of God. But there are some facts they cannot explain. Take the process of Exorcism. People who are possessed by a demon are considered insane and locked up in psychiatric hospitals. But when some lunatic is brought to a church and the rite of exorcism begins, terrible things happen: for this person, holy water is like knives. Shortly after this rite, once the demon has left the body, the person becomes normal. Psychologists cannot explain this fact.
