I thought I was completely screwed. Turns out, not really.

So, here's the deal, guys, when I worked as a loader, I had a system. Basically, you know those companies like "Work is Easy"? Well, you sign up for a particular store. You show up and act like a total newbie, saying something like, "I'm just a student, I don't know anything." They show you everything, explain everything, and you just wander around, doing simple tasks like sorting boxes or fruits and vegetables. Around lunchtime, the WAREHOUSE crew usually arrives. At this point, you really play up the clueless act, and the nice delivery guys unload everything while you just stand around and help out a little. Then, you go to lunch. You definitely need at least an hour and a half to eat your instant noodles. In the evening, you start unpacking pallets. The nice girls do most of the work, and you just stand there and throw boxes into a cart. You also need to visit the bathroom regularly for at least 15 minutes (diarrhea, that cheap, expired mayonnaise on sale is a killer). As the evening approaches, the cash collection team arrives. That's pretty much it. You smoke, hang out in the break room, just trying to avoid doing anything. The main thing is not to be seen by the manager. After that, you finish sorting the vegetables, then you go and stock the water, one bottle per hour. And then the shift is over. You fill out a form, go home, and drink a beer. 660 rubles in your pocket.
