People who frequently use swear words in their speech do so not because of a limited vocabulary or an inability to express their thoughts in other ways. This is the conclusion reached by American psychologists, the authors of an article in the journal Language Sciences...
"...our research has shown that a rich repertoire of taboo vocabulary is more likely an indicator of developed speech, rather than a cover for its shortcomings," the authors of the article note.
