If she were to say this about the island, she could say it to anyone, as they are all superfluous to her. Therefore, she called the Hero superfluous in relation to the community of survivors, where Crow clearly doesn't feel at home. And the maniac wasn't part of that community from the beginning anyway. I think the Hero was Crow after all.
