Besides New Year and Christmas, I only remember Thanksgiving, Groundhog Day, and Independence Day from American holidays. Although, an American holiday doesn't necessarily have to be from the USA. Philomena is a rather Catholic name; perhaps there's a saint's day associated with it, maybe one whose wife was a saint. We should definitely broaden our perspective.
