Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (2006)
Initially, I wanted to write a review full of hatred and all sorts of derogatory epithets about this wonderful game, but towards the end, I resigned myself. I resigned myself to the lack of full voice acting (you get used to good things quickly, and I didn't even think to highlight this as a feature of the first Metal Gear), I resigned myself to the lack of full conversations over the Codec, to the pathetic plot, to the locations the size of two houses, to the division into missions (consisting of locations the size of two houses), to the pathetic gameplay, to the lack of cutscenes, which were replaced by some crappy comics - in general, I resigned myself and began to meekly eat crap. Fortunately, the game turned out to be not very long - this is its only positive quality. I was already about to be disappointed in the genius of Kojima, when it turned out that this game was not developed by him. UNSURPRISING, I must say. However, I cannot reconcile myself to the fact that this game received high ratings from critics. Is it just because it was released on the PSP and therefore less is expected of it? I really hope so, because otherwise it turns out that game journalists and even the players themselves have forgotten how to distinguish good games from bad ones. In general, a terrible game, I barely managed to stop myself from dropping it. I was already looking forward to happily playing the fourth installment and received even more bad news:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a three-dimensional video game in the stealth-action genre, created by the Japanese studio Kojima Productions and published by Konami. According to Hideo Kojima, the main game designer and screenwriter of the game, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the last game about the adventures of the legendary soldier Solid Snake, but nevertheless, it is not the last game in the Metal Gear series. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is an exclusive for the Sony PlayStation 3 gaming system.
Well, darn :( :( :( However, I still won't watch it on YouTube, I'd rather postpone it until better times. Fortunately, all the remaining games - starting with MGS 3 and ending with the latest fifth installment - take place in the same timeline, and only the fourth installment takes us back to the present, to the events after MGS 2. Oh well.
Where do we go?
Where do we end up when we save the world?
