I'd like to share my opinion on the matter. I should mention that I have a personal interest – I would go to St. Petersburg, but I'm unlikely to go to Sochi. However, I'm not the only one who feels this way; I estimate that about half of the participants share this opinion. On the other hand, those who would go to Sochi will probably also go to St. Petersburg. Now, let's move on. The obvious advantages of Sochi are the sea and the climate, that's true! But firstly, it's early May, and it's still uncertain what the temperature will be, including the water temperature. So, the main advantage might only be for thrill-seekers. But even if the weather turns out to be perfect, you'll only be able to enjoy it during the free time between Heroes, poker, and drinking, which is unlikely to exceed 10-15% of the total time. Is it worth traveling for that? If you want to go on vacation, that's a different story, but this is an event, a collective one, and even a cyber sports event! Now, let's consider the obvious disadvantages, specifically in terms of the event: 1. Schedule The venue is a state-owned facility, and the group will have to adhere to a certain schedule, which is unknown for now, but following it may traditionally cause discomfort and inconvenience. 2. Logistical problems Everyone knows how to get to Sochi. There are only a few people for whom it is more convenient to go to Sochi than to St. Petersburg (if there are any at all). There are various oddities happening with air travel, and it is unknown what will happen in half a year, but it will definitely not be cheaper. 3. A sensitive topic – the internet.

I assume that there is no internet in other places? And again, will the championship be without broadcasts? Or can the internet (not necessarily of good quality) be found in the "assembly hall," for which you will traditionally have to pay a considerable amount? In my opinion, this is not the best use of the funds (and where this money can be invested for mutual benefit, along with the money saved on travel, will be discussed below). Yes, additional services such as saunas, billiards, and other things also cost money at state prices? But these are minor details... Now, let's move on to St. Petersburg. There is only the Baltic Sea there, but otherwise, there are no disadvantages of Sochi. I hope that Zmey and Roma will be able to come up with a version (or versions) of a delicious meal, and we will be the ones to evaluate them. One thing is certain: in the rented premises, the owners will be us during the event, and not some administration with a very likely Soviet mindset. In addition, in St. Petersburg, you can always include the availability of adequate internet at the venue in the search criteria. In the worst case, you can set up a broadcast using the "capture the image from TV via a local network (not via the internet) to a commentator's laptop, sitting in a separate soundproof room, and then distribute it via 4G," which will guarantee a good quality. In St. Petersburg, you can always find an operator with a suitable tariff plan, but this may not be the case in Sochi, as well as the time to test and configure it, in which I am even personally ready to participate! But, in the end, there should be a CIS with normal broadcasts, and not with episodic parodies of them. And now, the most important thing: WHERE TO INVEST THE MONEY SAVED ON SOCHI (or at least a significant part of it) The HotA team has given us the long-awaited miracle – simultaneous turn! :smile20: :smile54: It is still being refined, and judging by the frequency of updates, by the time of the event, if there are any bugs left, they will only be exotic and rare. So, simultaneous turn is undoubtedly a gift from the gods for this event and for all subsequent similar tournaments. Unfortunately, simultaneous turn is currently only in HotA, which is unlikely to appeal to all participants of the event. I assume that this may be done for political reasons – to promote HotA. But HW has done more for the promotion of HotA than everything else combined! And intends to continue promoting it, in various formats. But, to be honest, given the current state of the project and the community's attitude, I don't see how HotA can compete with SoD, especially in major tournaments. In this regard, I have 2 questions – to the HotA team and to the community (especially this applies to potential visitors to the event, as well as those who like to play for stakes). 1. Is it possible to implement simultaneous turn in SoD, and how much time will it take if simultaneous turn is already debugged in HotA? 2. How much money are you personally willing to donate to implement simultaneous turn in SoD? For players in Heroes, what percentage of your winnings are you willing to contribute to the same goals? After all, as they say, "time is the most valuable thing we have"
