I'm glad that a discussion has started, and if the community chooses St. Petersburg, I'll be happy! Although I still believe that everything can be organized very well in Sochi! (And, as I said before, I'm ready to organize everything).
Speaking about St. Petersburg, I have a big request for future organizers: when considering a venue for our event, please rely on several key criteria and remember that the CIS tournament is not a fishing competition, not a Winter Cup, and not even a summer one; renting one cottage for the whole group won't work here...
Here are the criteria:
- Availability of a separate conference hall;
- Possibility of organizing regular meals (not on our own);
- Availability of sports grounds (volleyball, football), yes, you are not mistaken, many Heroes fans are quite sporty;
- Not too far from the main cultural attractions of the city, so that everyone has the opportunity to explore the cultural capital on their own;
- Variety of room options (some will be happy with a folding bed in the corridor, while others need more comfortable conditions);
- Heating in the rooms (in May, the temperature in St. Petersburg is quite unstable, so warmth in the rooms is very important, as is the availability of hot water);
- Well-maintained grounds.
Many will say that half of these requirements are not needed by hardcore Heroes players, but I would like to remind you that, as a rule, only 30% of all attendees at the CIS tournament are participants, and the rest are spectators, who should also feel comfortable.
Well, that's all for now
