The base gave 3 confluences, but little gold and the main resources are far away at respawn behind the mountains. The center turned out to be cut off by a block of 20+ monks. On the first week, I took the opponent without issue - necro. On the second, I took the confluences - I should have gone to the center, apparently, but I decided to go to the corner treasure zone - found nothing decent there. I went to the center - there I was met by an opponent with greater power and higher stats.
In the end, I apparently wasted too much time on the confluences; I should have taken them more boldly and earlier.
