Because knowing the roles won't give him much advantage (only blocking, plus potential psychology in the style of "Who among the players might come after me?"). But information through player names could give him a good chance to prove himself. P.S. all this is said taking into account that, given the large number of factions, there will be many deaths. This means there is a chance that the game will be more dynamic than the average one.
